The "G" House Investigation
The G House investigation is currently on-going and initial indications are that another, perhaps several more visits may be made to the site. Our initial investigation has turned up evp's as well as very physical and tangible evidence of haunting phenomena. For example, one of our members reported a sensation of being touched in the home during the investigation. Another member reported seeing a cat running out one of the doors of the home as the team was leaving. Not an extrondinary fact in and of itself until you realize that the homeowners have no cats as family pets. Another strange occurance in conjunction with the sighting of the cat was the recording by two CRPIS members of a cat meowing in the home in two different areas at two different times. The owner has also told of having strange dreams as of late involving cats.
Other unusual occurances in the home include a male figure who is apparently fond of leaving crumpled dollar bills on a nightstand and a mysterious "whistling" which was captured on an evp recording session. The whistle in particular holds great interest for us and we are in the process of trying to determine if the notes heard are part of any Native American songs that may still be sung currently. As the Native American culture seems to have passed much down through the ages in oral tradition, we hope that we may find someone locally who can tell us if the song is familiar or not.
The phantom cat (or cats) within the home continue to make their presense known, one even seems to have responded when talked to by a CRPIS member during one visit to the home. That interaction was caught on tape.
Karen caught the cat meowing on her recorder in one part of the house. You can hear the cat she recorded by clicking here while Cindy recorded another cat in another part of the house that can be heard here.
There appears to be a human spirit or spirits in habitation in the home as well. During the initial tour of the home, CRPIS member Cindy picked up a male voice on her digital voice recorder. You can hear this voice by clicking on this link.
Listen to the unusual, melodic whistle captured inside the G House. CRPIS members believe this to be the sound made by a flute like those found at the site and attributed to Native American culture. Hear the whistle here.
UPDATE!
It has been brought to the attention of the CRPIS members present on site that the sound which we could not attribute to anything we knew of at the time sounds very much like a computer when going into sleep mode or when the screen saver is activated. Upon further review, the laptop we were using for this investigation does in fact make a similar sound to this when it powers down to conserve batteries and when the screen saver deploys. The source of the noise has now been confirmed as man made and the distortion a product of the recording equipment and the environmental variables.
Another voice was recorded after CRPIS member Neil in conversation with other members made the suggestion to "play 20 questions with the ghosts". That recording can be heard by clicking on this link. The interesting thing about this recording is that the voice appears over the voices of the CRPIS members on the recording and appears to be indicating a willingness to communicate or play along with the field team. If you listen carefully, you can make out the voice saying, "Go ahead, do it".

It has come to light since the initial investigation that bones were found on the property when the home was being built over 50 years ago now. At that time, there were no guidelines for dealing with discovered burials or human remains found in subdivisions or new construction sites. Since there was no law governing what to do, the discovery was forgotten and what was found was discarded by the contractors. No further mention of the discovery was made until the home owners recently questioned the contractor who built the home regarding the finding of any Indian burials on the property. Only then did the contractor reveal that bones and some other small artifacts were found but nothing was done with them.
All information obtained to date indicates that the entire area was once visited and seems to have been habitated by Native American tribes of the Mississippi Valley region. This would validate the finding of human remains within the subdivision and the other artifacts as well and could well give us a reference point for the cause of the phenomena in the area. Indeed, one witness in this same subdivision apparently awoke one morning to see a naked Indian male in his kitchen who vanished before his eyes!
It is not, therefore, unreasonable to assume that if the area was used as a site of habitation by Native American peoples and later settlers and immigrants to the area, residual energy and haunting phenomena might be triggered by upsetting the ground and building the subdivision on the land. This becomes especially important if bones that were discovered during the construction of homes were disturbed from their resting space which might, in turn, cause spirits to stir and unrest in the area overall. More will be added to this case file as the investigations progress.
UPDATE 12 September 2006
The residents of the "G House" have reported that there seems to have been an increase in the amount and the type of phenomena being experienced in the house. In one instance, the husband reportedly awoke early in the morning to see someone pulling covers off him in bed. His immediate reaction was that it was his wife however she was not responsible for removing the covers nor was she in the room. Apparently, whomever or whatever was in the room and pulling the covers did so with very real effect as it took effort to pull the covers back on to the bed.
The wife has reported that she no longer can sleep where she used to because of being poked in the back while trying to sleep. She has been awakened several times by being poked and refuses to sleep in the room where the incidents were taking place. She has since moved into the living room and now sleeps there. This follows her having the television on all night and the volume turned up so that she would not hear the noises around the house.
There are also reports of escalated incidents of noises in the house such as banging cabinet doors, doors opening and shutting with nobody near them, strange noises in the early morning hours, etc. All of this has prompted the CRPIS team to go back to the G House very soon and conduct an overnight vigil with video to see if we can capture the culprit(s) on video or film. Any phenomena in the houes seemed quiet when last we were there but this time, the team will be in the home during the early morning hours which has been determined to be the time when most of the activity occurs.
We will post the new investigation log and any other updates such as video or photos as they are captured so stay tuned for new information and check back often.

03 November 2006
Under a full moon, members of the CRPIS began a late night vigil at the G house which began in earnest around 9:30 p.m. Setup was conducted and "L", the woman of the house, was interviewed about a recent sighting of a full, yes we said full, apparition of a man that appeared out of a smokey mist that suddenly materialized in the kitchen of the home. The man was definitely not of this time and had what L called a "Prince Valiant" haircut. She described the facial features of the apparition but she could not tell much about the clothing other than it was not in keeping with the styles of today.
Once again, cats seemed to be all around the house and the sounds of cats and/or kittens was recorded in the basement and the upstairs kitchen area of the home. L had moved from a room where they setup their computer and a television to the living room after being awakened several times by being poked and tapped on the shoulder. That and the noise along with a feeling that she was not alone prompted her to move out to more open space in the living room. This small computer room became a focus for the investigation team.
The appearance of the man in the kitchen has given us a possible link historically to when he may have been in this area and we think that we may have pinpointed his era to a time when settlers moved through this area on their way to points west.
Several evp's were obtained in the house including a very cordial male voice that welcomed us to the basement by saying good evening. You can hear this recording by clicking on the link below. At that same time, another tape recorder being used by Director Mark Waldenberger recorded the same voice at the same time but the message was very different. You can hear it by clicking on the link below.
More information may be coming because there is simply too much information to go through and the extraction of potential evidence from audio and video and photos is not yet complete. Watch this space for further updates as the data is scrutinized. More updates to follow.
!!!!UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!!
The CRPIS recently sent two recordings obtained during the investigation on 03 NOV 2006 to the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena or AA-EVP in an effort to get an opinion on what we thought might be some sort of breakthrough due to the nature of the recorded messages. We have since found out that these two recordings may well be a very valuable piece of evidence in the study of evp and may benefit all paranormal investigators. To that end, we at the CRPIS have given our permission for the AA-EVP to conduct further research on this event which is considered rare and to publish findings, etc. on their website and in their newsletter. You can access a copy of the letter recently received from Tom Butler, Director of the AA-EVP, regarding these two recordings by clicking here.
The unedited version of the voice captured on Kim's recorder can be found here. The unedited version of the voice found on Mark's recorder can be found here.
Here is the recording that Director Tom Butler sent to us which is a combination of the two individual recordings. According to Tom, he hears "Leave Me" in this combo recording. You can find it here. We are interested in any feedback you might have and feel free to use the two recordings above to conduct your own analysis.
Listen carefully to both recordings which were obtained on two different recorders in the same room space and to the combo recording produced by Tom Butler. The artifact (voice) you are listening for in both cases will come after you hear Kim say, "There you go".
Needless to say, we here at the CRPIS are cautiously optimistic and guardedly excited about this potential find and we are only too happy to share it with others in the paranormal investigation community.
